GPS Mounting?

Alright guys -- I have a Garmin Nuvi GPS with the suction cup mount on the winshield. I love the GPS, but hate the mount. It's always falling.

Anyone have any good ideas for a permanent mounting solution? How about hard wiring in your GPS? Who's done it?

Let's see the pictures!!

Thanks!

I have my Nuvi mounted on the dash with the suction cup and the little black disc that comes with it.
Hope this helps. I have the wire ran down behind the dash piece ran down into the little pocket below my TowCommand. Where I have a two way splitter off the cigar lighter powering my Nuvi and Sirius Radio

My Garmin Nuvi has the suction cup mount with the latch that tightens it down... I put it on the top of the winshield to the left of the mirror, right before the bumpy stuff.
Has yet to fall in the past month. And my wire is just tucked up in my A pillars and headliner...

well i was braing storming the other day, hate they way my gps just stands out(just like yourself). so i started looking around. im going to order the edge overhead pod than custom fit it so my gps sits in it, fiberglass a back plate for my gps, get some strong velcro(so i can still take it in and out) and set it up. i would hard wire it in going in the cieling down my gauge pod..and probably get a tint banner too so you cant see the ugly edge pod from the outside.

what do you think?

i was also thinking of doing it with the dash mount that edge offers, but my gauge pod would be in the way

i bought a universal mount from radio shack. then took it apart, there the peace i used fit perfectly in the cigarette notch that is in the center cup holder.i used a small screw that i had left over from the mount and screwed it to the ash try. as long as the ash try was fulll of change."usually is" it would be fin. you could even push the cup holder back in the dash with this mounted. it wouldnt go in all the way but if you needed the center seat you could use it. best thing is, the ash tray is removable, and there was only a short run over to the 12v plug to minimize the wire hanging there..

sorry guys no pic of the set up. that truck is in a better place now =\ i have a similar set up in my 08 i can show you

here is how i have mine, it only seems to fall off when it gets really hot outside and i park in the direct sunlight. If i wipe the windsheild off where i stick mine it seems to do much much better as far as sticking goes.
