A/C Recirc no worky...

I did a search and couldn't find the answer.

I have a 05 with the automatic climate control A/C console.

My problem is when the recirc button is selected nothing happens.

Is there a common problem that causes this and if so what is the fix?

When you hit the button, does the recirc icon come on? If it doesn't, then the problem is most likely the button is not making contact, and you might be able to take it apart and try cleaning it with alcohol. If the icon does come on, then the problem is most likely the vacuum damper motor, lines, solenoid, or vacuum source for the motor that redirects the air. It could also be the actual climate control box causing the problem, but that's a lot less likely.

I wish I could be more help. There's just a lot of stuff that could be broken.

That is a great start thank you very much. I was beginning to think it was vacuum because the icon does come on. Now I just need a manual to shoe me the diagram of where this hose is.

New to fords and all the quirks but Ill bet your 4x4 wont kick in without locking in the hubs also, if so check the connections on the solenoid and make sure all vacuum lines are intact thinking its located on one of the finders. This fixes it in most cases. My truck ac is really bothering me, I just don’t think it gets cool enough, but ill put some gauges on it this week and find out the details.
