New tunes from IDP, questions
I was running DJ's looney tune on the work truck, without studs, got erics xtreme street-mild for non studded trucks and it feels AWESOME, love everything about it, just wondering what everyones EGT's under full throttle are? Mine got to 1400* but didn't go any higher, was wondering how safe that was or if I should worry.

i would not worry to much about that range....only 1600 or more for a long period of time.

Hell I hit 1400 getting on the freeway every morning

O well maybe i was mistaken i thought i had heard that anything over 1250 isn't good for the motor.

anything over 1250 for an extended period of time is going to hurt it. you have to hold it for over a minute though. i see 1600+ almost everyday. i cruise at 1000-1200 on the highway everyday too. 1400 at wot is not bad. its pretty hot for a stock truck but it shouldnt hurt anything unless you hold it for to long.

To clear it up, the truck in my sig is studded, the one I just got the new tunes on is a work truck, non studded, and no it does not have cat/muffler, has 4" turbo back straight pipe.
The truck is on the interstate everyday, and cruises at about 850-900, and today with the tunes, was at 900 and no higher, 1200 on the on ramp, and that's with a trailer. |
