Black smoke is unburnt fuel, or more correctly, not fully burnt fuel. Unburnt fuel is white, as on cold start up. If your truck has a small puff of dark gray smoke when you mash it then your just about right. Black smoke can be harmful to your horsepower. If the flame front cannot burn correctly then you may be lowering you exh. temps and thus not spinning you turbo as well as you could.

if smoke is all you want unplug your turbo line to the intercooler, stop up the air filter. Or you could get some tranny mods and give ts performance a call. There chip is the only one that I know of that will always blow smoke.

I also have a 6.0L that has Edge A2 w/juice platinum, stacked with Edge evolution,AFE stage 2 intake,water/methanol injection,4" stainless magnaflow exhaust and It does not smoke, but it does smoke about everything else on the road.My trucks fuel and air mix is just right. Too much smoke is loss of power and waste of fuel.

I currently have a set of heads at machine shop being polished and ported. When I get those back I'm going to pull cab and install head studs and new heads. Can't wait.

But with all the power you're putting down you haven't succumb to the dreaded head gasket blowing issue?

No I have no headgasket or head bolt problems at this time and at 40psi of boost you would think it would. I guess I got a good one and drive it with a sense of respect. If all holds together I will be giving a run for the money at the DHRA drags in June at Indy. One for the 6.0L's.

I've got a edge platinum, and when I have it on level 5 or 6 it smokes like a freight train when I get on the go pedal.
