wanting new mods
well, just like anything else, i've had the same mods on my truck for a while and its getting old. i think i am going to order a RR, airdog, and egr delete. what do you guys think about those mods as my next step? should i get those mods before a new turbo or sticks? what about getting a new SCT tune with the RR and airdog, will i be able to feel a difference? any advice would be great... thanks

Probably wont feel a difference, but your truck will run better with the RR, and airdog set-up, I would contact your Tuner and find out if they need to adjust it for you if you install these parts. What kind of turbo you thinking ? or sticks ? what sticks you thinking of going to ?

for a turbo i am going to have fleece performance build me one of their cheetah turbos, it is basically the same system they use to put in their d-maxs. sticks, i'm not too sure yet, maybe 190s or 205s but i'm not sure about doing a turbo and sticks first or a tranny first. i will eventually do the RR, airdog, tranny, turbo, and sticks... it will just be spread out over 2 or 3 years and i am trying to figure which mods to do first or last

btw i will probably go with a 64mm turbo. is that to small for 190 or 205 sticks?

I would say 64mm is nice but they have to do it right, or your gonna have problems with it. I would say go with this list of ideas. So 64mm might be much if you driving up hill alot to.
Regulated Return Turbo Injectors 190 no higher for daily driving. Airdog 150 Gears to match your 35's. Trans Last |

I would get a tranny first so you don't tear eveything up.

the only reason why i would do tranny last is because the torqueshift is such a good tranny for aftermarket hp. and yes i will probably go with 190s or lower

If you need anything let me know....

good list..RR kit isn't really necessary..the larger lines are nice..but the regulator is wasted money if you have a fass or airdog.. EGR delete is a requirement for larger sticks and turbo..I know you mentioned it in you original post..but its very important, it wont last long with more fuel and air.. |

Would an Airdog II be better than the 150? It seems the airdog will only supply the stock pump correct, so fuel pressure remains at 18-20 or whatever it is? Is my thinking off here? The Airdog II will be more like 50+ right?
Someone please correct me here, I'm in the same boat as the OP here and wondering what to do next. I would really like to do the EGR cooler delete first though. |
