High EGT's
Hey guys i just got a SCT from innovative and am extremely pleased with it. My only other mods beside that is a 5" straight pipe exhaust. When i am running the extreme street tune, my EGT's hit 1200 way to quickly which forces me to let out of it. What is the next best mod to do that wont void my warranty and help me lower my EGT's?

If I really get into it from a stop I can hit 1200* in about 40ft and right before it shifts into 5th it hits 1600*.
It drops back down to 1200* on its own once in 5th with my foot still to the floor. Does yours do this also? |

Ok alwil what kind of egt's do you get when you run empty on flat ground at about 65 mph? I am wondering so I can compare to mine. Thanks!!!

What size tires are you guys running? Stock?
I've got 35's on 20's and EGT's climb fast for me too! I'm guessing the heavier tires/rims contribute to this. |

Ya I am running 35's on a 20x12 wheel, I can also hit 1500 deg by the time i am bout halfway threw 3rd gear on my xtream street tune from innovative, Eric says this is normal for a high power tune. What concerns me is my temps when I am just crusin down the hwy, depending on the grade I range from never below 800 "unless going downhill" to 1250 on a hill. It seams like most the time i run about 1000 this seams really hot but maybe this is normal, does everyone run these temps? All my info is in my sig.

65mph I am running about 700-750ish.
My temps at cruising speed dont seem to be much different than stock, I run 33" rubber. I would think gearing would effect EGT's also I have 3:73. |

Well my EGT are high also on my innovative tunes but I put some tow tunes in and was towing a toy hauler and going up a long steep grade EGT's stayed at 1400 and towards the top the truck started whistling then it sounded like you could here a fan and it would do that back and forth unless I lifted the throttle or until it cooled down some. Is 1400 to high of an EGT to hold for about a min or two? What could the noise have been?

1400* is kinda high for sustained time, That fan noise was you engin fan turning on.
What tow program do you run? |

800-950 on hybrid race mostly crusing with a stock muff and no cat

1000 does seem a tad high. Under normal driving I see 750-850. Once I hit that sweet spot at half pedal the egt spikes to 900, 1000, and climbing fast until I let off. But when empty and even going up hills I don't see 1000, unless I'm gettin on her. What do you have your Revs Per Mile at? I have 35'' Toyo MT's and mine is set to 595. If you are below 595 I think you should try moving up your RPM to 595 or 600. This won't lower your egt's but may help if your off. |
