Please critique mod plan
Hey guys, I've been searching the forums and researching for about the past week and have come up with the plan for my next mods. I have an appt. with Eric @ Innovative the first week of July for a ficm reflash and retune. In the mean time I'm planning on doing a full EGR delete. I want to keep the stock injectors and turbo for right now. The only other thing that I might be interested in is an 03 turbo swap. Other than what I have just listed and what is listed in my sig, what do you guys recommend as being next on my list? Possibly a regulated return and or an Airdog system? Ideally what I would like to do is have all of the basic and supporting mods done so all of the frame work is in place for when I do get studs. This way I can jump into injectors and maybe a bigger turbo. I'm all ears guys let me know your thoughts.

do you have an aftermarket intake?

No I'm still running the stocker. All of the intakes that seem like they work are so damn expensive, I figured I could put that cash to use in more important places. Did you notice a difference with your AFE intake?

i would get headstuds in there.

how'd you get the appt. ?

X2 on the headstuds and intake. If your gonna go with a bigger turbo and injectors eventually, id save your money and not take a half step with the 03 turbo, just save for what your wanting. If your gonna get new injectors depending on the size an airdog would be great, either the 100 or 150 depending on what mods your wanting to support

With that FICM tuning you will wish you had the regulated return and AirDog. Since you are already planning on the EGR delete you should have the studs done at the same time.
You really got a hard decision to make and either one will involve some serious money to finish. My suggestion: Mod the EGR up-pipe, get the AirDog and RR fuel. If the headgaskets go then do the full delete and studs. I'm running mine with a FICM, SCT and modded up-pipe I can tow and run hard with no issues. It's all time and money, how much are you willing to part with in the end. |

how long have you been running the ficm and sct? how many miles do you have on the truck? i would love to do that but worried about HG holding since i have 160k miles on mine. HG have not been done yet.
