Muffler or No Muffler

I just received my 4" MBRP Dual Exhaust. I also ordered the CAT delete. Should I also go with the muffler delete? I was told it would be very loud but wouldn't it help keep EGT down? Thanks for the help.

i've straight piped my stock piping and it sounds real good just cruising around town and on the highway. not loud at all. However if you mash on it and get in the higher RPM's it gets pretty loud and raspy. I would say unless you have an issue of getting pulled over by police for loud exhaust then you should be fine with straight pipe no muffler.

eventually i'm going to upgrade to a 4" DP and 5" DP back exhaust with a magnaflow muffler. the muffler should help keep it from being excessive in the higher rpms.

CAT Delete and a good straight through muffler..... Straight piping is good but the the sound of a good muffler is better to me. Definatley no kitty....

I would delete them both. Your truck will sound good.

Im running a 5" with no muffler or cat and it sounds great! Definately delete them both

I have punched out the cat and did the muffler delete and I love it!!! I will agree that is you get agressive with the go pedal it will sound off, but then that is the coolness factor of doing it!!! If it's too loud your too old I have the MBRP down pipe in my back seat waiting on time to get it installed.

yeah, i'm all for gettin' rid of my muffler! that's gonna be my next thing I do. The kitty is gone, just gotta get the behemoth of a muffler gone too

i vote for no muffler

i deleted both and cruising around its not bad. if you stomp on it yeah it gets loud. now when im towing it kinda gets annoying on long trips but other than that its not bad

I agree no kitty no muffler. It is awesome when you floorboard it going through a tunnel.
