Programer - SCT, Bully Dog

Looking for programer, monitor, etc.
How does the SCT Touch Screen Xtreme compare to new Bully Dog Performance Management Tool? Has someone installed the new Bully Dog Performance Mgt. Tool?

want performance and option for economy too. will NEW SCT touch screen Xtreme do both, and comparable to Bully Dog Per. Mgt. Tool?

Every single person on this website will tell you SCT.

Custom tunes, all the way.

I don't have either but I am ordering an SCT. As said by blitanicle, EVERYONE on here will say go SCT custom tuned, The quality and reliability is VERY high, as they are set up for your truck individually.

I went with another brand before, the Edge Juice with Attitude.

Yes, it was cool made more power, dished out some black smoke but my tranny did not like it one bit.

My former roomate from college has an identical truck, and has the SCT custom tuned. His truck would STOMP mine.

Being a vendor, I get to try all the neat little gizmos. I'll be brief, go with the SCT.

I have tried several different boxes , programmers etc. I found the SCT to be the most drivable with the best trans shifting and decent mileage but on that note I cannot beat a similar truck with a bullydog. I guess it depends on what your ultimate goal is. I would stay with SCT

First off the Xtreme is bluetooth, while that may sound cool to have, at this time it's pretty limited as far as what sensors you'll be able to get. This is because bluetooth as it is now can't handle the amount of information or the speed that some sensors relay that information back. Second, I don't like the idea of a wireless device tuning my truck. Bluetooth is pretty secure and has a low disconnect rate as far as just by accident, but I wouldn't want to take the chance on that.

As for the Bullydog, the tuning isn't the best in the world and my tranny didn't care for it all that much either. Now this was with the triple dog, but I don't think their tuning has changed all that much between the two.

As to economy from either one, custom is always going to have a slight edge over "off-the-shelf" one size fits all tuning, however, how much economy you get is directly preportional to how heavy your foot is. I have gotten better economy from hotter tunes, but I've also gotten my worse economy with hotter tunes, all depends on how heavy my foot has been.

If your wanting a digital OBD-II gauge, I would actually get the DashDaq with the Ford Enhancement license that gives you access to 9 modules to get codes from and about 460 sensors to put on the screen(not at once mind you). Plus it gives you the ability to add analog input gauges for EGTs, Fuel PSI etc., things that aren't on the computer to get.

Then get the xCal 3 with custom tunes and you should be good to go.

Hey James,

Seems like a lot of posts for the 6.0 PS are in favor of SCT. I am totally new to making anything performance.
I have a 2006 F-350 Crew cab King ranch with the 6.0L PS 20"wheels etc. The only mod I have done is making the fog lights stay on with high beams. There you have my experience.
I looked at SCT website and was instantly confused on which model to consider. It will probably be quite a while before I am in a position to purchase. I still have stock everything exhaust, intake etc.
Any info would help on stuff with the tuner, exhaust "probably TB"

Thanks
Griz
