Banks Monster Exhaust any good?

When I bought my truck it already had a Banks Monster exhaust on it. Its just the catback version. I still have the stock piping from the turbo to the cat. Yes I still have the cat on there too, in PA we have to leave em on for inspection if they came with one.

This looks to be a 5" system. Are these decent? I mean would I gain anything from switching to a whole new turbo back system? The monster is quiet for sure, which I am ok with, but just didnt know if there was any advantage to going with a new full turbo back system. I dont have any performance mods at all, just the lift on the truck. No tuner or anything else.

I would go a full turbo back. It is basically pointless to have a exhaust if it just a cat back

It lets your truck breath better, lower egts, and it sound better. If you plan on getting a programmer you will defiantly want a tb system. All of which are good for towing and just driving. As for the inspections, you can get a turbo back system that retains the cat and then get a cat-delete test pipe. Then all you would have to do is put the cat back on for inspections.

Or you could just but the downpipe instead of getting a whole new system..

banks only has a 4 inch exhaust witha 5 inch tip. just call them and order a "cat foreward" exhaust. with the banks theres another small piece between the cat and downpipe. you wont really notice anything from the downpipe until you start to add fuel with a programmmer but is youll have the whole system might as well have the whole thing. oh and dont even try and save the stock downpipe, had to cut mine to get it out.

I have the monster exhaust on mine without a cat and i love the sound of it. No weird drone and you only hear when you get on it.

I ran the Banks on one of my 6.0's without a cat and was very pleased. Wasn't the loudest thing, but it did not get the droan you get with alot of others. A cat really does not belong on a diesel, they just put out too much particulate matter and it plugs them up. Banks sells a test pipe for the cat, so if you get the downpipe, I would pop for the test pipe also.
