Resonator?

I have 4" turbo back with cat/muffler delete...my question is, has anyone ever deleted the resonator? What does it really do? Would it make the turbo even louder? It's wrapped in foil it looks like, just wonderin what would happen if i cut it out...

I think so but I dunno...i wanna cut it out though, just wanna make sure I don't really need it...

The resonator is only on there to cut down some of the whistle from the turbo on the 03 and early 04 6.0 motors. You will not hurt anything by cutting it out, you will just have a little more whistle from your turbo.

yeah but like he said, 4" turbo back and he has a resonator? so does that mean that its pre turbo or what?

The resonator is at the bottom of the downpipe where it connects to the rest of the exhaust...I cut the cat off and the kit came with muffler delete...didn't notice the resonator till the other day...but I want it gone LOL

Did you cut the resonator off? I'm curious to find out how much of a difference it actually makes.What kind of down pipe do you have? I've only seen Banks advertise a resonator.I've got an 03 as well.
