EGR Removal Pics
Here are my pics of the EGR removal and rerouting of the cooling fluid to the oil cooler. I had all the spare aluminum laying around so I made a little more work for myself using 1" tubing for the complete unit. Since it was .125 wall there was no way I could make a 1.25" radius bend, but I like the look of the finished pipe. Ensuring it was all lined up took a number of fittings.
By far the easiest way to do this is to use flexible high-temp formed silicon tubing. I didn't take a pic of the exhaust to turbo up-pipe/EGR flange removal but I just cut it out, formed a patch and tigged in to the side of the pipe. To be honest, it would have been faster to just make a whole new up-pipe (I didn't have any of the right pipe or easy access to a flange press) or buy one from an exhaust shop than cut, grind, fit and weld in the replacement. An exhaust repair company could make one in very short order. |
