I have never seen much talk about cams on here, I'd be interested in seeing some info on this also. @dukcaln, what part of Cali you from bro?

I an near Napa..........You....As for the cam, i am hearing it will make a wider power range and increase the rpm into the 4k range.......along with some good porting on the heads and intake manifold and cleaning the exhaust manifolds up it should produce some power.....

Not worth it unless you're going for crazy high power.

It's your money, and if I was doing a performance build like your doing I would go for the cam. There is definitely some room for improvement over the stock unit. I've seen how you feel about Elite, but Tadd would be the one to get the skinny from on the benefits of the camshaft.

you will have to do some really really really good porting in the heads to get the performance out of the cam. the cheaper solution to the cam is spray. the cam doesnt do as much as you think it will, ive seen the dyno results from a truck with a stage 1 cam and it wasnt anything that open'd my eyes any bigger

I understand what you are saying and i think its more for the long plan........the cam wont make more hp for say, but will widen the power band...thats what i am looking for so the top end will come alive. I plan on porting the heads, porting the intake manifold and porting the exhaust manifolds then heat coating them.......along with beehive springs, chromoley push rods, head studs, fluid damper, injectors and a turbo.........good tuning and a strong base (shortblock)...add a little water meth and it should run pretty dang good.........then later a little NOS.....
