hey new to the forum...and to diesel

hi guys im new to the diesel world. what i have is an 06 f250 6.0. im looking at doing and exhaust and a chip with some gauges...dont want anything to big its my dd. i have been looking at the sct and like how i can get 3 tunes i def want a economy tune since it is my dd and then a couple other ones. dont want anything to big bc i dont want to have to put head studs and gaskets in it. an exhaust is a must also. and air filter is getting a little dirty and was thinking of doing a intake kit...wasnt sure on what brands would be good to go with...


by the way it has a 3in lift and 35s.

Welcome. Your best economy is on a high hp tune. I run Extreme street as a daily driver. Your tuner will write your file with your mods and tire size and what not in mind. Get some guages, an exhaust, and a high hp tune. If you tow get a tune for that. Thats all you need. Stock intake/air filter is good.

I too am a new 2006 6.0L owner with a new 5th wheel. My neighbor added a Banks Power chip to his 6.0L and thinks I should too. I'm considering the Banks Stinger kit w/chip, but I've read on some blogs that it's not worth the cost. fordfan30, you said "If you tow get a tune for that. Thats all you need. Stock intake/air filter is good." What did you mean by "if you tow get a tune for that"?

your stock air filter is good to 450 hp , so no reason to change unless you want to spend the cash. Banks is not worth the money, Buy a sct with cutom tunes your trans will thank you. If you tow have your tuner write a tow tune. These 6.0 get better fuel milage the more hp you throw at it. put a 120 or 140 hp tune on it and you will see better miliage

kool thanks for the suggestions...i was thinking of a 4in mbrp exhaust. and then go with the sct chip...should i just call cale...does he sale the sct tuner? if not where is the cheapest place you have seen to buy parts

Welcome Aboard The ORG!!! I pretty much agree with the above info given!
SCT all the way.... your transmission will love you!! Get some gauges and upgrade exhaust 1ST and Foremost. Don't wast your cash on intake like some of us did. Put it to better mod use and HAVE FUN!!!
