Help!! SCT Xcalibrator II tuner..

Hello,

I know there are tons of threads on this, but, when I search for SCT it says the parameter is to short. So if someone could please help me. I have an '06 F-350, 6.0 liter that I am trying to program with an SCT Xcalibrator II.

First, I cannot find the Electric Fan fuse location on the diagram, where is it?
Second, the tuner is used, but, it has 4 unlocks left, are there any issues that will come up as I am going through the menu's?

Any advice on the tuners usage and any threads someone could link me to would really be appreciated!!

You do not need to worry about pulling the fuse to use the programmer, if that is what you are worried about. As long as you have unlocks there should be no issues. The xcal2 does not have any canned tunes. Do you already have tunes for your truck? If not, have you purchased custom tunes?

Edit.... If if you like some more help I will meet you in the chat room.

Error messages..

Granny,

Thanks for the reply. It has unlocks, I found the fuse, there are 3 tunes on it currently, race, tow and an SCT II its labeled. Now I have tried select the tow mode tune and it cycles for 15 seconds or so and the has a message that reads POWERUP Msg timeout..

Those sound like canned tunes. I didn't think that the xcal2 came with canned tunes but I guess I was wrong according to the old man. Hmmmm..... I would get me some new tunes. Have you tried the other tunes?

Have you downloaded the Liveload software from SCT yet? You will need that to get the tunes from your computer to the tuner. You will also need that to unlock the tuner.

There was a time that you could get either the x2 or the x3 with canned tunes and you would just have to do a firmware change to make it accept custom tunes. Now I think the x3 is only able to handle custom tunes.

I was just wondering if you got your tuner straightened out. I hope you did. I just thought I would check in and see.

Granny, I hit blackice last Sunday smashed through a guardrail. Trucks in the shop. I'll let you know when I get it back and get the programmer set-up. I've got Doug's (from GoGo) phone number to help me figure it out. Thanks for checkin up!!
