SCT tuners & controllers?

What are you guys all running from SCT?

I know you all have pretty much custom tunes, but what do i need now to go from stock to an SCT setup?

I want something with digital gauges, since its for my company, i dont want 3 autometer gauges in a pillar, im not really racing it down the track ever

Ive seen the SCT Livewire controller for like $600-700. Can i buy that and now the truck has a tune on it? Then just get one of the DJ tunes or whatever?

Yeah the livewire will work just fine for you. But I would just get the custom tunes right away

You will want ant SCT and and some sort of gauges. If you don't want analog gauges, I would get an X3 or SF3 and an edge insight or Quadzilla commander. The main things you want to monitor are EGT's, boost, and Trans temp.

I would suggest getting the SCT with custom tunes from Innovative diesel. You can run the canned tunes but they aren't nearly as good as custom tunes. If you buy the SCT from Innovative or Raul, you will get three custom tunes for free but there is an additional charge of $80 to get an extreme tune.

DJ's is no longer in business so you will not be able to get any tunes from them, Innovative or Cale over at Brian's truck shop is your best bet. I think Cale's tunes sell from $25.

If you decide to go with the Livewire you will have three canned tunes right out of the box. You will want to buy the EGT probe with it as well. I have heard of some people having their Livewires stolen because people think it is a satellite radio or GPS.

DJ closed the doors about 8 months ago, due to some family issues. But it sounds like they are slowly opening back up

so the SCT livewire is just the module that tunes the trucK? Dont most tuners come with the egt sensor to install as a kit?

Can or cant i use the livewire to "monitor" the temps , or im going to have to get an edge/quazilla etc still?

Can you run an SCT tune and then use the fancy "big screen" edge monitor A2 i think to monitor all the temps and such?

You can get the EGT probe for the livewire but it costs extra. If you are looking for an edge monitor. Get the insight. All the other ones require the juice to work

i have the livewire and love it....i think no matter what you get your going to have to buy a EGT probe for extra..........i dont hammer it all the time but its nice to have at least some kind of monitors going on......i mounted mine on the floor in the middle with some velcro so no one can mistake it for nav/sat radio...........plus its stealth so no one will know i have a tuned truck

Bully dog has a nice digital monitor in the price range of the edge..... Looks a lot nicer
