high egts towing

How high should eggs be towing my 07 6,0 Towing 10k through the mountains with super chips set on tow safe egts easily hit 1600 AT 50Mph on hills is this normal

im still new to diesels and towing and im not sure about every thing yet but i'm pretty sure 1600 is pretty bad. do you have any other mods like intake? exhaust?

No, it's bad, but depending on grade and other environmental factors that would make the engine work harder, hitting 1600 at 50 mph may not be out of the realm of normal occurance.

Not only will an intake really not help like an exhaust will as far as EGTs go, it is highly advised not doing an intake on a 6.0 with just a tuner.

Just depends on rpm's and stuff but that seems high to me, unless its still in overdrive or something at the turbo isn't making any boost... what do your egt's look like at 70?

Na my buddy hits that pretty easy with his insanity tune and never lifts out of it... just dont let it do that for very long.
