Well, Im pretty sure you have to remove the Heads to do it. So, that would suck for the average guy I think. Lots of tubes, wires, and other things on top of that engine. I wouldnt say its impossible. I just sent an email to our supplier to see if we can offer those at a better price than Jegs. I know they Retail for over 700 bucks.

I've heard that with head studs you can run quite a bit of boost, like 60lbs or more.....but if you get too much then they suggest o-ringing too....

if you are going to put the studs in yourself....you woud have to pull the motor...i lift the cabs......either way, there is an extreme amount of torque needed to hold those heads down with the high compression of that motor...and you have things to think about like the egr cooler stuff, etc. i would reccomend taking it to someone. also, i would reccomend buying the ford intake gasket set....it comes with pretty much all the o rings and gaskets needed EXCEPT the oil filter housing lower o ring and the head gasket parts. make sure to change your orange egr cooler hose in the valley with the updated blue one to prevent leakage in the future......any questions...let me know....Marc

Marc, we are supposed to get new catalogs from BD diesel anyday. They are supposed to come out with an intercooler for the 6.0L. As far as I know they are the only ones talking about it. Is it needed? I've heard lots of people say that it already has a very good intercooler. We sell lots of them to guys with the 7.3L from banks.

banks is the only aftermarket intercooler ive seen on the sick-0 so far....and yes, ive replace probably a dozen that have blown the side tanks off already, and most of those were just on stock vehicles that tow a lot and just use the higher boost more........i would reccomend it....

On the 03 and up Dodges, and D-max you can get away not pulling the head when you do studs. You just replace one at a time.
