difference in sound from different flow through mufflers?

just an out of curiosity question, is there really any difference in sounds ) 4 in turbo back system no cat) when using a silverline flow through muffler, mbrp muffler, magnaflow muffler, and so on and so forth? kind of a dumb question but is there a better maybe little louder/quieter muffler or beter muffler on the market between all the big brands?
