it would be safer to order the gauges first, then the tuner. Although, its not nearly as fun

Some have done the same thing your doing. I'd suggest not really getting on it until you have gauges, but you should be able to play a little :burnout

I wouldn't go to the track until you have gauges for monitoring purposes

Question is after seeing that what did you do differently??

EGT's are always going to skyrocket at WOT....thats the nature of the beast.

With the right tune they will maintain an acceptable level. Guages are a monitoring device....no more and no less. Im not saying its a bad idea to have them, but what I am saying is the right tune will allow the EGT's to stay in an acceptable range and whether your watching guages or not really doesnt matter.

If you plan on pulling a 15K trailer up a 6000 foot grade with your performance tune installed then it makes alot of sense to monitor your EGT's for obvious reasons.

Anyway....just another point of view. I plan on installing a tuner shortly but will keep it on the conservative tunes till I finally do step up and get some sort of monitoring device (edge, guages, etc.)

You could have saved yourself some money by not doing the intake as the stock one is good enough for atleast 500 hp and you won't see that with just a tuner alone. I know of several people that have over 500 hp and still using stock box. Just food for thought on that. That would have bought a couple of analog gauges by not getting an a/m intake.
