SCT Question

I know this is probably on here somewhere, but exactly what do I have to do to get Custom tunes from my E-mail to my SCT. Do I download the firmware off of SCT's website and go from there? Any help is appreciated, this is my first experiance with custom tunes and I don't want to mess anything up.

Thank you,

Josh

The SCT instruction amnual is a little hazy. This is from the SCT Update file

To update the Tune Revision (pre-loaded tune files) for the SF3/LW device:
1) Download and install X3/SF3/LW Updater Software.
2) Download and save the latest Tune Revision for your Device.
3) Plug in the SF3/LW without holding any buttons.
4) Open the Updater Software and Press the Transfer File Button.
5) Browse for and Select the Tune Revision file that you saved (*.LFU).
6) The Tune Revision Update will begin transferring to your device.

To add Custom Tunes (.ll3's) to the X3/SF3/LW device:
1) Download and install X3/SF3/LW Updater Software.
2) Download and save the latest Tune Revision for your Device.
3) Plug in the X3/SF3/LW without holding any buttons.
4) Open the Updater Software and Press the Live Load Tunes Button.
5) Press the Browse button, and locate your saved ll3 file, then click open.
6) Select a file position and type a name for the custom tune.
7) Press Program to add the tune file to the X3/SF3/LW.

SCT's instructions are horrible and I am still amazed a company would design such a "un user friendly product".

FORTUNATELY their tech support is AWESOME. I thought I was going to 'flip a switch' trying to get my tunes loaded on my X3. I finally called tech support and was driving down the road (much faster!!!) just a few minutes after connecting with a tech!!

One tip I learned was you cannont use a PC with 64 bit windows.

Good luck, it is all worth it in the end!
