SCT Tuner Question

Ok guys, I bought the truck and the original sct got locked because the previous owner didn't return it back to stock when it went to the dealerand the dealer flashed the ecm. I bought a new sct and am using it now. I got in contact with the previous owner and he sent me the custom tunes that he had from elite that he had put on the sct he owned, the one that got locked. My questions is this, can i load the elite tunes onto my new sct?

If the stratagy is the same I think they should work. The stratagy is the key.

Is the stragey the number off the ecm or is the strategy the number assigned to a specific sct tuner unit......Or basically does the strategy follow the truck

Strategy is the designation or name of the stock file. Hundreds of trucks will have the same strategy. When you go to the dealer for up dates they sometimes load new files on the truck hence the strategy change? Make sense now? What happened to the locked sct?

I still have the locked sct....I didn't know he had one when I bought the truck. I thought he had the predator only. So I got a predator tuner and a sct-x3. I bought a new sct when I bought the truck.

By the way thanks for the info. I am going to load a tune, just one of the elites and see if it will take. Lets hope they did not change the strategy code when they flashed the ecm. I can understand why the locked on wont work, because he had a canned tune loaded in the truck and the stock tune on the sct when he took it in for service and the dealer flashed the ecm
