Help Me Spend $1000

....and no I wont send it to you! So I have been reading here for a while and have stacked up $1000 to put into my truck. I am new to diesels though and dont really know where to start. I have a stock 06 CC FX4. I am thinking SCT and MBRP TB with cat delete. Am I off as to where to start? Also where is the best place to get a good deal? I would like to be able to do gauges too. I can not spend a penny over 1K though. what do you guys think? Love the forum BTW.

$750 or so will go to your SCT w/ custom tunes and your 3 gauge set up. Get a budget exhaust from Farm Boy Diesel and that will put you at the $1k mark. I would say to start w/ head studs but unless you're doing it yourself, you're looking at a few thousand. Stock intake is good enough on these trucks that you don't have to replace it unless you're going for high HP.

i would say 200 or less on the sct from ebay. 200 or less for tunes innovative straight pipe instead of muffler if you can get away with it.. 200-400 for gauges.. and at worst case gives you 200 for beer and loose women...

i got my sct on ebay for 200 bucks, i think i paid 300-350 shipped for my turbo back from farmboysdiesel, and i got my quadzilla digital gauges for 325 with pillar. thats less then 1k bucks, shop around for used parts save you some money.

Just straight pipe your factory exhaust, get gauges and then pick up a used Xcal II on ebay. You should be well under 1K for that.

MBRP 3.5" DP and MBRP cat delete pipe under $300, SCT (retail)$450 with tunes...plenty of cash left to plan the next round of mods.

Check with Raul at Stealth automotive and see what he can hook you up with. He has gauges, SCT tuners, and exhaust.

I'd start with an SCT w/ our custom tuning and exhaust. You'll want a monitor or gauges next. Be sure to use the tow program when towing and you'll be good to go. We can hook you up with a package deal.
