Hello from Oz,
lone Ranger here,
After trying several tunes, I have the best fuel economy so far from Eric at Innovative Diesel, with his "Aggressive Tow" tune...
It "flares" a little as it easily drops the RPM into a lower gear, but it also helps you keep your foot out of it... He did some nice things to my tune for Oz, shutting off the EGR, cooler engine sounds, lower EGT, and so on. I was towing 10,000-11,000 lbs, gooseneck horsefloat, some hills, and I have a 2007 King Ranch Dually CC LWB loaded to almost 5 ton itself with fuel tanks and boxes and 430 gears, MBRP 3.5 turbo back downpipe into 4" flow through straight light muffler exhaust and no kitty.
Fuel economy was 5.35 kms per litre, times conversion maths is 12.66 miles per gallon U.S. For any of you towing, I think that is pretty good considering the load of truck and Gooseneck of almost 10 tons.
Hope this is near the tops reported, and a help for some of you doing big time towing... Regards from Oz...
