yeah no kidding. i went to a seminar for ats trans stuff at scheid last summer and the guy was saying out of the stock "Big Three" tranies that the 5r110 was the strongest, that made my day when he said that lol but he really preached that anyone who does modes to their motor NEEDS to get a bigger t.c. to save the trans. i can get a really good deal on a BD t.c. but i would like to know what anyone else runs and how they like it.

I have the suncoast TC myself and I really like it. 3-5 shift is a little aggressive for my taste, but since that's the weak link in this tranny, I would rather a little more aggressive then have to worry about that solonoid again.

The only thing that I don't like about it is that they way it's designed you can actually use cheaper tranny fluids and I just don't think they do as good of a job.

What is the issue that your tranny is giving you? I'm willing to bet you'll need more then just the converter especially with having that Edge on there, that has been known to eat trannies.

I plan on going suncoast as well when the time comes. I already fried a factory converter with about 40K miles on the clock and nothing other than a custom tuned SCT. I think it was just a fluke though. I now have a 3yr 75K warranty on this reman tranny though so no real need to upgrade it yet...

Edge actually has the roughest reputation when it comes to the torqshift, but any of your shift on the fly tuners and/or modules are the hardest on the torqshift. The reason being is that it does not tune the tranny, I don't even think the regular juice even has the basic safeguard of de-fueling when temps get to hot(which really doesn't help all that much, it's more of a placebo effect). Bottom line is that there is no way to properly tune the tranny with shift on the fly. Let's say that it indeed tuned the tranny when you first hooked it up. That one tranny file has to be good for all 5 levels(I think there are 5 levels on this one) and that just doesn't make much sense. That would be like putting a race tranny profile on a tow tune(or vice versa). Just doesn't sound right that one tranny profile has to be good for 5 different hp/tq outputs.
