chip/programmer?
i have a 6.0 X and just bought a dealer extended warranty. i am looking foryou guys opinions on a pefemance mod. i am just looking for a small hp and tq gain. maybe 50-75 hp and good tq gain for towing and just fun driving. is there a plug and play device that i can just unplug before i take it to the dealer for warr.work or should i flash it and have to replace with my stock tune whenever it goes to the dealer?
let me know what ya have and what ya think my best move is. i am new to modding diesels. |

I'd go with a programmer, like our SCT X3 with a custom 65rwhp Tow program. You can return to stock at anytime and you'll have no concerns with the dealer. You'll notice a modest power gain, slight mileage increase, and great reliability when towing. Please PM, email, or call with any specific questions and we'd be glad to help.

As they said, Sct is the smartest way to go. The x3 has 3 different canned tunes you can run, One being a nice 65HP tow tune which sound like it would be great for you. It can also help you with light diagnostics if ever needed. Tranny adjustments/Shift points/TC lock ups/and a few others goodies.
Sct also came out with an "Economizer" programmer that you should look into. I'm not sure of the H.P gains, But would assume a 50-70HP gain. Good luck with your choice. You will hear the same thing over and over again "SCT". There is a reason for that. SCT has incomparable motor and tranny programming for the 6.0L. You would assume that a far superior programmer would be twice the money as other. Fortunantly is is equal and sometime less.. |

I have the SCT Livewire and it works great. There is a selection for "65 HP Tow" option in there as well. But the "performance" tune really woke that bad boy up though. Good luck in what you decide.
