I found some polish at murrays called Blue Magic I believe, works real well and it says it leaves a silicon protective layer.

Check like Ace or True Value hardwares or I think ive even seen it at Meijer and Wal-Mart. I would imagine any auto parts store should carry it.

Well mine stays permanently caked in mud, but I do polish the bike a lot.

I found a thin liquid at a bike store online called "Boms Away", and it's undoubtedly the best metal cleaner I've ever seen. I actually cannot believe how well it works. It's expensive and more geared to the bike crowd, but it's the only thing I've seen that handles discoloration, stained aluminum, etc. I turned my classic car buddies on to it too.

Thanks guys - I'll check them both out. I'm an odd ball. Got a 4 wheel drive and it stays cleaner than my wifes Expedition!!
