SCT Livewire 5015 EGT issues

I had issues with the latest upgrade and had to send my unit in. I got it back this week and I noticed that the EGT and engine load are wrong. I called and talked to SCT and I was the 3rd call yesterday for these issues. They are working on the fix. I just wish that I was not the guinea pig!

Can you believe it. SCT has still not upgraded the software to fix the issue. It has been 1.5 months. Lacking in customer service.

I called SCT today and got the cold shoulder. It must be something wrong with your setup is the reply that I got from them but we are still looking into it.

So here is the question who makes the best programmer for the 6.0L? With a good costumer service? I ask if they could roll back the firmware and I was told no. What BS!

I would not recommend buying anything from SCT.

Don't get me wrong I like the device and what it does. My issue is that when they update their software and then people have issues they will not roll back the firmware so that I have a working device while they try and fix it. Where is the software development control? When I called the first time in July the tech told me that I was the 5th person with this issue so far.

Why wouldn't they roll back the firmware to what was working before?

I have the SCT EGT senor. You would think that they would have tested it with their own device.

we all know the SCT EGT sensor is garbage... there are plenty of threads with issues and some resolutions...

If you dont like SCT get something else, maybe you are better off with a Hypertech.

I know what you're going through, just spent over a month of the same problems with the X4, got the same story, it worked on our 04 PCM, it recognizes other Ford vehicles. I went as far as buying a second one, getting my PCM reflashed, shipping the first one back twice, over $900. Not so much as any kind of an offer to make some of it right.
Vivian got involved because I had bought the Looney and a Tow from them and had her rewrite them for the second X4, which didn't recognize my vehicle after updating either.
After around 200 03-04 6.0's later, OH!! Maybe there is a problem, took them 4-5 days and they got it fixed and are busy getting the others updated.

Yup, know how you feel, makes me want to stay away from any updates, If I hadn't bought the second X4, I prolly would have picked up a NIB X3 that a guy offered.
Now I have a spare X4 for sale. Analog Gauges!!& ScanGaugeII.

When i bought my SCT Livewire 5015 and SCT EGT sensor back in 2012 I did not know of any issues. The sensor worked fine for 2 years until they messed with the software. As stated by KingRanch I wish I never did the sw upgrade and If they get it fixed I will decline the upgrade from now on.

All I ask for is that they roll back my software. Is that to much to ask??????

On another note what EGT sensor would you recommend maybe my solution is to buy another?

I am using the PLX SM-EGT module and sensor. I believe this might be the best route to us in conjunction with PCT's Livewire TS. I to have my tuner in for repairs.
