Sterling 10.5's Last Chance. FAIL!

So I got my motor all dialed in this past winter and the trans built this past May but my Dana 80 still hasnt found its way into the truck yet. I havnt pulled all year knowing that the rear axle was probably going to break but my 80 is finally ready to put in so I though I would give the Sterling one last shot. There is an annual pull in Ohio that is pretty open to whatever just no added weight.

Well the Sterling lasted about 293' and decided it had enough and popped yet another shaft. Sterling is Junk! Hopefully I can get the axle pulled tomorrow and get this thing underway.

I put a video up but the quality is pretty bad but you'll get the idea.

What I can say is the truck is a beast! i couldn't even give it full throttle untill about 200' which resulted in about 4600RPM's... oops. If nothing else, it sounded mean! Take look!

If I had a Dually that looked as good as your, it would either...hope fully with the axle and the new driveshaft the truck will be pretty rock solid. It has been driving me nuts not pulling all year but I figured with the axle all done, why not? That is the 7th time that thing has broke. When I put the axle in, I am lowering it 2" and dropping down to a 35 to minimize axle stress.

Started to take the axle out tonight but also did a little tear down. Another shaft. This time it was the pass side.

03-04 up front is 32 spline Dana 60
03-04 rear single wheel 32 spline 10.5
05-07 Dana 60 35 spline
05-07 sterling 10.5 35 spline
Also a front axle on a 05-07 is heavier.

truck looked like it was hooked real good till the end when it started to bounce a bit then it broke. how have you kept from twisting the center section on the tubes? usually these sterlings twist on the tubes before the break.

id like to have the AAM 1150 out of a dodge with theyre limited slip. those are massive and the limited slip puts the fords to shame. just would cost a fortune to have custom hubs made to get the 8x170mm lug pattern
