sinister Y pipes-

Ive been looking at replacing my Y pipes. I finally got the serp belt to shut up so I can now hear what I beleive is a bellow leak. (Very high pitch upon wot acceleration)
So first question- is there any benefit to aftermarket over oem?
I see were sinister sells wrapped and ceramic coated. I know the wrap will hold in the heat but any other benifit?
I am now running a BPD upgraded egr cooler. I beleive I remember somewere that this is some sort of a issue with the aftermarket y pipes??????
Any other brands I should be looking at?

Thanks guys in advance. Jayson

I'm not sure anyone makes a set of upgraded pipes that has an upgraded EGR pipe too. Are you planning to delete the EGR cooler??

I have a set of AJB y pipes also, they fit perfect. Aaron had them built and shipped within 2-3 days.

I would stay away from MBRP y pipes, they have SS braid inside the bellows. It is known to expand and cut off exhaust flow.

Just upgrade your bellows, like the others say. Most cost effective way. The Sinister piece is a long y pipe, replacing the egr up pipe with a solid piece. Oh and i agree... Aaron is offering a Damn good deal on his pipes..

well looks like I'm goin with the bondajb upgraded bellows. So new questions, when I get the pipes can I or should I try to wrap them? Would it be a good idea to look at possibly ceramic coating them?

Cameron, I think we had this discussion in another thread about the MBRP y-pipe. They do have an interlock lining as shown in this photo of them before I installed them on my truck last week.

Just got done ceramic coating my stock pipes. All the info from cerakote looks promising and some info I found on wrapping pipes was not looking good. This is cerakote black velvet. It's an air dry ceramic good for 1800 degrees.
