speed brake versus exhaust brake

I had a Banks exhaust brake on my 2001 Powerstroke. Now I'm looking into putting one on my "07 Powerstroke. My performance shop suggested the banks speed brake. I visited the banks website, read and watched the video, and I still don't understand the difference. Can someone explain the difference please.

What is your need for an exhaust brake.. with a custom tune the turbo can be manipulated to behave similar. .

I tow a 36' toy box. I've never been happy with the brakes on it so that is why I like an exhaust brake

Why not get a custom tow tune with the "Jake brake" added to the tune, or upgrade the braking system bigger calipers and rotors.
From what I have heard an exhaust brake may work for helping you stop but without upgrading the exhaust valves and and exhaust valve springs can result in failure of those using an exhaust brake.

A little easier and probably cheaper to put a bigger caliper/rotor kit on the truck.
