5 position switch chip
So I have seen it a thousand times. everyone says get the xcal 3 or die. But I would like to know if anybody has used or knows anything about the 5 position chip offered by SCT. I had an xcal 2 and sold it so I could upgrade and I like the idea of being able to select my tune on the go versus stopping unprogramming and reprogramming the vehicle. If anybody has any suggestions or information about this product let me know. Here is the link if your are curious to what I am talking about. SCT Automotive Performance Products

I know shift on the fly sounds like a neat idea and it is for the initial few months, but after that you'll get into a habit and you'll pretty much stick to one tune(at most 2 for the majority of time).
Shift on the fly though isn't good because you can't have any worthwhile tuning of the trans(otherwise you wouldn't be able to have the shift on the fly option). Even though it seems like an inconvience to always have to stop and tune your truck and then turn it back on, in the long run it's better for the truck and I did have a shift on the fly tuner first before I went to SCT and then later to Spartan's tuner. |

Sweet thanks for the advice. I was lookin for one cause I do heavy towing on the weekends but none during the week so I figured it would be easier, but what you said makes sense now that a little logic has been forced into my brain. I will stick with the xcal3 than and be just as happy
