Bought the 6.0, sold the 2003 now i want to mod
I have had the 2005 powerstroke for about 90 days. I bought it from a person and not a company. I have been looking to sell the 2003 Dodge 4 door with hidden hemi. I have finally sold the dodge and no i can spend some more money on my truck. I have made a few changes but not many since i bought it. The tires have me all depressed and the price for new ones is really depressing.
1.) I have factory 18 inch wheels and want at least 35 inch tall or 36 inch tall at a minumin. I have recieved mixed signals on wether i can do that or not. The factory rims are 18 X 8?? i have heard. Will 325/65/18 go on these rims and look okay? If those fit can i go any larger? 2.) If the stockers will not work, i have heard but not verified that 17 inch tires and wheels are a little cheaper. Is that true and will there be any issues on my truck dropping from 18's to 16's 3. If you have to do it over again were you pleased with the tire size you ended up with? When they wear out, blow up or get lifter are you going back with the same size and or brand? Bully dog pup is going to be sold i hope and replaced with a SCT with custom tunes but no extreme. ( my son sometimes drives this truck and i do not want him overly tempted ) Does 125 for the pup seem fair? It is complete with box, cables, manuals etc. 4. Guages- Still looking for the ones that are calling my name out. Just have not located them yet Thanks, On the tire help |

I can't really help you on the wheel and tire questions except that I do know that 35" tires fit pretty good with just a leveling kit.
Definitely sell the Bully Dog and go for the SCT with custom tunes, there are a bunch of different tuners out there but Eric at Innovative seems to be the best, I have heard that Cale over at BTS is good too and his tunes are cheap. I run ISSPro Enhanced Visibility gauges and love them. They look great against the 05-07 dash and are very reliable. |

first off welcome to the Org....
the only way to go on a 6.0L is custom tunes like the SCT X3 so your doing the right thing by selling the BD.. do a search on here and you will find out that 90% of the people that have tuners on their truck run SCT or some kind of custom tuned tuner.... i would say only 5% or less run banks or quad. as far what i think you need i would do things in this order.. gauges first.. boost, pyro, and trans temp some sort of Turbo Back 4" exhaust then a custom tuned SCT X3 with innovative diesel tunes... if you need any further info or prices do not hesitate to ask -Raul |
