Hypermax wire ring head gaskets

Has anyone tried the Hypermax head gaskets they call wire rings? They're supposed to work just like fire rings without the required machining of your block or heads. I've called around and talked to a few diesel shops, and the people who have heard about them seem to think they work ok. The Hypermax web site says you don't even need to run studs. As a matter of fact they don't recommend them. Thats kinda confusing to me as who in their right mind would not install studs if they had the heads off? Everything I've always heard about 6.0 motors puking was that the factory bolts would stretch and allow pressure to leak into the coolant system. Any thoughts???

I haven't used them but think that Redneck 6.0 from another forum (and recently featured in a magazine about his twins for the 6.0) does use them. He runs studs and it is fine. Again this is just what I have heard.

fire rings

I wanted to get my motor fire ringed at first. Contacted ATS, they wanted over 1700.00 bucks to send them the heads, machine them, then send them back with the rings and gaskets. I understand that they are top shelf and get good results from this, but darn!!! I wanted to save a little, and couldn't wait while my ride sat at the Ford shop, loosing parts. So I cancelled, and ordered the Hypermax stuff. Hope it works, I'm spending a fortune on labor...
