S&B filter noise?

Does this filter really make the turbo louder? I have an 04 straight piped and she whistles pretty good. Im reading threads about some guys complaining that its louder. Is this true?

S&B filter noise?

The whistle come from the turbine wheel (exhaust side), so adding a aftermarket filter does very little to no noise. The only extra noise you may hear on the compressor wheel (filter side), will be from thinner filter media not suppressing the vacuum like noise.

I have an open filter AFE system and can hear the intake more than I thought you should or would want.

Different tunes can hide or accentuate the noise.

I'd prefer a closed quieter system.

I've had my S&B on for a little over a month and didin't notice any increase in noise. If there is, I don't notice it over the engine or exhaust.

The only noise I really hear is when you shut the truck off and you can hear the turbo coming to a stop
