Intercooler piping

I noticed the other day my upper rad hose was touching my cold side ic pipe. It made the pipe so hot I couldn't even touch it. I figured whats the point of the intercooler if the upper rad hose is just heating the air up again. Anyone else ran into this? I was thinking of just getting some header wrap and wrapping the pipe. Is this a good idea or am I just wasting my time

its not gonna be anything DRASTIC , but I'd be willing to bet after a hard run, even if the rad hose was touching it, it would be very hot to the touch.
