'03 vs '06 engine controler

I have a ’03 f-250 with a ’06 6.0l and I want to get an egr delete kit but I don’t want to deal with the error codes right now. I was told that a ’03 engine controller won’t through the codes and no other ill affects if the egr is just unplugged. Now will the old ’03 controller work on the ’06 or should I just wait and do the egr kit with a controller that will fix it?

Did you do an engine swap? What kind of mods do you have? Might want to fill out your signature so your mods and truck show up.

i have an january build 2003 6.0l and i trashed my ecm i took an 05 excursion ecm and it did great in fact it hade the codes to eliminate the BP sensor and a fue other things so i guess it would work the other way round i kinda like the 05 ecm it had all the new fimweare in it solved alot of thr surging and fuel consumption issues i recomend staying with the 05

Make your life simple, EGR delete kit, and a SCT. Thats all you need.

ya at the time thay didne have what i needed and it was under warrenty
