Keep in mind I have not ran any of them but I hear Banks is OK but the Spearco and the DI unit are better.

Do you know of a web site where I can check out the Spearco and DI units and possibly purchase?
Thanks

Whats the price for a new intercooler? What are the benefits of going w/ an aftermarket one?

You would have to call DI and here is their website. I am not sure if they are actually selling them or not. When you call see if you can talk to Richard. I know he is running one.

Benefits would be lower EGT's.

go with the spearco! i just blew the boost tube off again at the intercooler. the early intercoolers had a beepbeepbeepbeepty coupling at the turbo that would explode apart at times. they revised that with new material. it would explode but it has blown off before. the rubber coupling at the intercooler is now giving me problems. banks wasnt open yesterday so i was SOL. try running your truck with no boost. good times!

Banks hose blowing off

Try calling Banks and insist that they send you the latest upgrade. I got one of the first Technicoolers and went through two hose couplings, each were supposed to cure the problem. I told them repeatedly that the unsymmetrical hose coupling they were sending out to connect the turbo discharge to the intercooler pipe would expand unevenly, and contract. With each cycle, it would gradually work the silcone material out from under the clamps, no matter who tight they were. I even mailed Gail himself a personal and confidential letter, explaining that they needed to neck the metal portion of the intercooler tube down to the same diameter as the turbo, and also make the 45 degree or so turn in the metal. Low and behold! The next thing arriving in the mail was the updated parts (new boost tube, and new coupling) exactly how I pictured it. Works great! Never blew it off yet. One thing about Banks. Customer service is great, just takes 'em a little time to iron out the rough edges. As far as any benefits, I can't tell, as it's really intended to allow you to use increased power levels while towing while keeping your egt's in check...

same here. got my intercooler the first month they came out. i called them yesterday and they originally told me they would send out the new parts 3 day air. i argued with them since my truck was not driveable and it was their fault. they agreed to send it overnight with the upgraded tube and other pieces coming 3 day air. i just need a new coupling to get me running. i blew up 3 or 4 original design elbows. that sucked because they would just explode and you were left to basicly crawl home.
im glad you havent had any problems. hopefully with the new parts i wont either.
