sct livewire ts no communication

So for at least a year I have been having problems with my ts loosing communication with the truck it varied in length of time between issues, I would start the truck and it would not be reading parameters so I would unplug and plug back in and restart. Then all was good.
Well finally it did it and just unplugging didn't work so I left it unplugged for about half an hour and plugged back in and it worked. Then the next day it did the same thing so after I got it to communicate again I returned the truck to stock and did an update but that still did not fix it.
I called sct, he checked some things then said updates worked but I would need to send it in. I'm wondering since it communicates with the computer without a glitch could it be the cable in the truck. Anyone have this issue?

when you start the truck/turn the key on can you touch the screen, then click exit the gauges, and then go back into them to make it work?

I had to do that constantly but this last update from SCT fixed it.

It won't communicate with the truck unless I unplug it and leave it off for at least half an hour (weird) or plug into my computer and open the updater program. So I'm guessing something is wrong inside. Used to I could just unplug and plug back in and get it to work. I'm losing confidence in it's durability, maybe I should have bought the base model sct and then an edge cts for monitoring

I've had this one for about 1.5yrs and all in all it's been great. Sct has been good to deal with just hate driving around in stock tune now and could be 2 weeks before it comes back.

I think when it comes back I will celebrate by treating myself to Eric's xtreme x tune. Maybe that will make up for it. Seems alot of people like that one for a dd.

I don't want to hijack the OP but I just googled this "livewire ts will not exit gauge mode" and found you alls thread. For some reason today I cannot exit my gauge mode, I have unplugged the ts and back in then right back to gauge mode. Also I have not updated the firmware since I brought it back when they first come out simply because of what you talked about "the roll back". Mine was working perfect, do you think I need to update the firmware?
