EGR Delete for second time in 4 weeks!!! Tore apart right now!

IPR kit. Did the first install and ended up with a tea kettle whistle. Tracked it to the delete to intake connection. Ipr sent me a new delete and said its machined different to seat better. They recommend using the metal gasket that went from the egr cooler to intake. Im curious if thats a good idea since that gasket it slightly ridged around the center. I have heard stories of black rtv and making your own gasket. Any thoughts? Got it all torn down and ready to reassemble.
