SCT X4 question...

I got a sct x4 and using the setting on toyo's website for my 37" tires it shows to use 560 revs per mile. I set that and my gear ratio for the engine tuning and then before going to the transmission tuning the tuner asks "have you changed your tire size?" And has a list of settings 600 to 700??? If I check off "no I have not changed my tire size" my speedo is off about 10mph at highway speeds... If I set to the lowest number "600" it's off about 4-5mph at highway speed...Am I doing something wrong?? The second main reason I bought the tuner was to make my speedo correct...first reason was for the fun added to the skinny pedal. Lol

Will a "custom" tune fix this or did I miss something?

Thanks guys!

I'm not sure if a custom tune will correct that or not, but yes the lowest rev/mile that you can set it to is 600. The only other way to get that back is to physically change your axle gear ratio (if the custom tune won't fix it). Everything you did was right.

Thanks for your reply!

Another couple questions I have...

What benefit does "lock torque converter in 1,2,3" do?

Also does the "jake brake" option only work while in tow/haul?

So far I'm liking the Sct! Running the "street" tune now and it runs nice!

Can anyone compare the "street" tune to the gearhead SRL?

the gear ratio does not effect the speedometer since the sensor is after the ring only tire size effect the speedometer

i just bought the same tuner but i am running into a different problem. I recently had the edge evolution and extreme she was nasty but on performance on my X4 its no where near the amount of power that the edge put out.

Am i doing anything wrong?

I noticed the have a shifting gain thing and it goes up 7mph or -7mph or something like that. whats that about??

you need a custom tune
I also had the edge and I just loved it specially the shift on the fly

but to many reports on the tranny issue had me go to the SCT and then to custom tunes

i tried a few tuners
I like Gearheads and Wildman
I have innovative also but didn't like the service after the sale or the absolute lack of it
so after a week i bought some from Matt and never looked back

you can play with the shifting even on a custom tune make sure you keep notes so you can keep track of changes

i really had my edge tweaked in the back menus it was fast but I did not have the Hot unlock option

i never felt my custom tunes were exactly the same power wise down low but they are all around better and less smokey
