Mtw stage 2 questions

Really looking for people with direct experience...

I have been thinking of doing a turbo upgrade... I contacted mtw and he reccomended. Stage 2 that way I can upgrade injectors down the road and if I got to a stage 1 it would limit my upgrades and make me upgrade turbo again.

So would you reccomend a stage two for my current set up?

Arp studs, egr delete, healthy hpop and fuel pres, straight pipe exhaust, stock intake, stock 03 loud turbo, stock injectors, just runnin a sct sf3 with canned tunes and an edge cs for monitoring. But will I need anything to run a stage two? Custom tunes?

He said I can send in my turbo to help offset the cost and I trust his judgement but curious if anyone with similar to my set up run a star two?

I would highly recommend Charlie from KC turbo's or James from barder turbo service. Both companies do great work and have good turn around time. Not really sure what happened to Adrian and MTW. I would highly recommend doing the 2.5 kit from either builder I stated above, it will do everything the stage 2 will do plus a little more.

Justin you should get a hold of me on one of your days off. You could drive my truck I have a stage 2 from Barder. You can see if you like it. And you will need some tuning.

Defiantly check out Barder or KC, they both have great customer service and products. My Barder stage 3 was built and ready to ship the same week I bought it and this turbo is a beast.

A stage 2 will definitely show some lag. Especially while towing in O/D
IMO.

I would recommend Barder. Or stick with stock and get a ported intake manifold instead

Mtw stage 2 questions

I can sell you a Stage 2 or put you in touch with Charlie at KC or James at Barder. Any of these are high quality, well built and balanced turbos.

I personally went from an MTW to a VDP S2 and couldn't be happier. About to add a WPE ported manifold and regulated return.

We have S2's on the shelf ready to ship out today as well. The machining and rebuild quality on the VDP, KC and Barder turbos are all top notch. Obviously, I'm partial to VDP and absolutely love my turbo. It performs excellent and has exceeded all my expectations, from appearance to performance.

Let me know if I can help you.

Get a ported manifold and have that 2003 built up to a Stage 2. That's a TON of air flow capability ready for whatever injectors you want to run in the future. Tuning will be required to make you happy until the bigger injectors are installed.
