Why do the power programmers skip the tranny?
From reading on this site only SCT programs the tranny and NONE of the other companies out there do any tranny tuning? Why is that? I would think that Bully Dog, Banks and the others would have the money and man power to do this? Thanks!!

I had the bully dog with the outlook and it had trans settings and shift point changes in it. Now I have the SCT and would not go back to the bully dog.

I am going to get a SCT AS SOON as someone tells me if i have to have the XF3 or if the Excallabor will do. Sorry for spelling, my head hurts and my cordination is off due to the meds.

X-Cal X2 or X3 will work fine. The key is getting it loaded with custom tunes from someone like Innovative etc...

There is many Shift points for Maximum Power, Torque and Economy, and the thin line of Destruction. Most Programers like Banks and Hypertech try to be in the protection power side of our trucks. Remenmber smoke is wasted energy. I had a smoker and I could hardly walk inside my RV Trailer after towing it 50 Miles. Thats when Diesels were very unpopular foir RV haulers and the 454's and 460's were boss.
Mine never smokes and I shift by feel most of the time, depending on the load I have. Most of my shifting results in 70 to 90% load but I mostly like it at 70% when the trailer in tow. Load never makes it past 70% without the trailer. |
