STUD BOLTS/WARRANTY? @90,000 MILES

MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN DANCING AROUND THE POSSIBLE NEED TO REPLACE MY BOLTS FOR 20,000 MILES. THEY RECENTLY REPLACED A HOSE THAT SEEMED TO HELP THE SQUEELING NOISE AFTER THROTTLE. BUT IT'S BACK AFTER ONLY TWO FILL-UPS. THEY ARE NOT IMPRESSIVE THERE. RECENTLY THEY HAVE GIVEN ME THE RUNAROUND ABOUT THE BANKS STICKERS I HAVE ON MY TRUCK, SAYING THAT FORD HAS BEEN PUTTING THEIR FOOT DOWN WHEN IT COMES TO EXPENSIVE WARRANTY WORK AND PERFORMANCE ADD-ONS. SOUNDS LIKE A SLICK LOOPHOLE TO ME. I HAVE A FRIEND WITH AN 06 AND THEY REPLACED HIS AND IT WAS DOING EVERYTHING MINE IS, SO I AM NERVOUS WITH ONLY 10,000 MILES LEFT ON THE WARRANTY. AS FAR AS I KNOW EVERYTHING ON MY TRUCK SAID, "DOES NOT VOID THE WARRANTY"! BANKS, K&N, AND SUPERCHIPS.

Cool. Sounds like nice truck. The fellows who have dealt with the 6.0 warranty work will chime in I am sure. Again, welcome to the site.

im gonna get beat up over this , but feel it needs to be said , as per ford warranty (ANY AFTERMARKET ADD ON TO A VEHICLE CAN EFFECT WARRANTY STATUS OF SAID VEHICLE ),im sure someone is gonna come in and say (not per the magnuson moss act thingy , they have to prove it caused the problem), not really they dont , each dealer has its own say on wether or not they are willing to work with the customer , some will some wont , its up to the dealer , the problem is if they do work with you and then ford gets wind of the truck being modified , then the dealer gets charged back the claim in an audit times 10 , the reason its times 10 is because they say if you did it once then you have done it more than once so 10 times you get charged back for a fraudelant claim, now with that said , do i agree with it , no , but alot of dealers use that to keep there azz out of the fire , should ford pay to replace your head gaskets after you have modified the truck , no , but it is also fact that stock trucks have had head gasket failures , yes , in my opinion and i have a large one , when i pull in a truck that has a problem , lets say its head gaskets , and it has been modified , does it bother me , no , it means im gonna make 20 hours to fix it but not all techs look at it this way , some for one dont want to do the job, others arent qualified to do it or are scared to do it , so it get used as an excuse , the stealership gets beat up alot about warranty and modified vehicles , its really not in there best interest to help out , because it cvan cost them more than its worth to help out , im sure there is alot of grey area i havent covered but i hope this helps with understanding where the dealership stands

Why should Ford warranty a modified ENGINE. They manufactured it to run @325 hp and like 560 foot #'s. If somebody turns that up to 450 hp and 700 foot #'s with aftermarket parts, what responsibility does Ford have when certain parts start to fail? If a dealer looks at my truck and says, sorry, I can't warranty your truck, I'll say OK fair enough.

Scuffy said that in his post. He stated its up to the dealer, individually. If you took your truck in and the dealer said "yeah, we will fix it", are you gonna NOT let them since you have a modified engine? Just curious.
