What makes the 6.0L turbo LOUDer than stock

im not talking a little noisy, I have a full exhaust on my truck, and dont think the turbo is any louder, maybe at the exhaust tip but thats it.

I hear some rolling around, 05+ super dutys that are INSANE just getting on it a little bit! Is this because they have a tuner on them or an intake? Im sure the intake lets more sound from the turbo come out but i cant see it being that much.

If its from the tuner, what is it doing to the turbo that makes it louder, adjusts the vanes, spins faster, keeps boost longer? what?

Are you sure they are 05 turbos. Sometimes guys will put 2003 turbos on because of the lower vain count (10). That is where the insanely loud sounds comes.

I have a 03 with the extremely loud turbo and I didnt notice a difference in the sound when i put it on the stock tune. I do have an open intake(Not a cold air box).

its not a tuner that makes the turbo louder, like the guys said, the 03 turbos are the loudest. i'm not sure how constricting the silverline muffler is, but if you run straight you will for sure get a loud whistle

i can tell that my exhaust tone is twice as loud tuned than untuned when gettin on it, idling i can tell a little more whistle, i also have a 4" striaght pipe. timing on the tunes has alot to do with exhaust tone

I love mine but as soon as i cut off the 5 inch tips and put 6 inch tips I lost alot of whistle here is my truck with duels and 5 inch tips .

talk to raul, i think he wants to trade for a stock turbo. he has the 03 and he says hes gettin sick of it anyway heres a clip of my 03 whistle.
