New Aftermarket Parts
I am looking for some help in deciding what cold air intake to purchase and some other ideas to "speed" up my "2006" 6.0. I already have a cat back exhaust and a SCT SF3 programmer. Looking for what other owners have used and stand by with the best HP gains and reliability. Partly has to do with a friend with a 05 Duramax that continues to embarrass me at every light. Any help would be appreciated.

well.... first off i would get gaugest if you dont already have it... also... get some custom tunes for that SCT... without it its just another basic tuner.... call up Eric at innovative diesel... or visit them at www.innovativediesel.com
as far as intake goes your stock intake will flow more than enough air but if you really want to get one my vote is for S&B intake like this: S&B 6.0L Intake if you have any other questions bud please let me know -Raul |

Thanks for replying. This is my first F350. Will doing any of these custom tunes damage the truck? This is my daily driver but also I hate losing haha.

With erics extreme race tune on my truck I laid down 466/772 with no other mods. stock intake, stock exhaust.
Honestly on the 6.0, I'd keep the stock intake. I've yet to see an aftermarket intake do anything other than make a little more noise, and the added risk of damaging your turbo doesn't seem worth it to me. The stock unit is actually very good, and unless your over 500 rwhp, dont bother. Get the custom tunes and you'll be a lot happier. Chevy's are fast though... |
