Difference between XCAL2 and X3?

Like the title sais...wahts the difference between the SCT XCal2 and the X3? I'm new to the tuner stuff and dont have a clue.

The X2 can hold 3 tunes total. It comes from SCT with 3 canned tunes that can be changed out to custom tunes.

The X3 can hold the 3 canned tunes plus 3 custom ones for 6 tunes total.

I don't know if you can still buy an X2 either. There is no performance difference between the two. You don't care about the canned tunes anyhow. Custom tunes are where its at anyway. Get either and don't look back in my opinion. I think you'll have a hard time getting anything new other than an X3 though. I'd buy an X3 through a site sponsor and get it setup with some spartan or innovative tunes currently.

Since I think July this year the X3 only holds 3 custom tunes. No "canned" tunes come on it. The SF3 is now the unit that holds 3 "canned" and 3 "custom".

ill have to correct this a lil bit... the X3 does not come with canned tunes anymore... when it was the Xcal3 it used too... the X3 is the tuner that all the custom tuners use.... they are no longer making the X2 so it will be hard to find new....

also spartan no longer makes tunes for the SCT so you cant get any from them....

Well I already bought a X3. Just didnt know what the difference was. So, now I have a X3 that I bought from another member. What is my next step as far as using it on my truck? Ordering tunes? Thanks for the help on this, I am new to the programmers.

call up innovative diesel and let them know you want some tunes... plug it into your OBD 2 port and get your trucks strategy because Eric will need that to make your tunes
