XCal2 VIN locked
Is there anyway to unlock the device?
I erased all the tunes and tried to erase the device and also unlock the device, but it won't let me. What really pisses me off is that I was assured and promised that the tuner was NOT VIN LOCKED!!! That was the FIRST thing I was sure to ask and find out before I purchased it. Now what the HELL do I do? Very pissed off now.................... RL |

If it is truly VIN locked, I think you will have to send it back to SCT. Sorry. But maybe I am wrong. Some of the guys on here that know a little more about these might can help.

If the unlock didnt work in liveload, it has to go back to SCT. I think they charge $150 to unlock it

And you should definitely attempt to get the selling party to pay for the unlock or refund your money. Liveload cannot unlock the device under any circumstances if it's VIN locked......only SCT can do that.

Yup, I'm receiving all sorts of crazy feedback:
-Maybe the tunes don't match my truck's strategy -Maybe there is a stock tune still in the xcal -Maybe its locked -Maybe its VIN locked -Maybe its not -Maybe its a communication error b/t the truck and the tuner Let me tell ya, having $135.00 of custom tunes and NOT being able to use them, NOR the xcal I purchased just brightens my day! ! ! Should I take a BIG FRIGGIN SLEDGEHAMMER to the SOB like I want to? RL |
