Superchips question

I recently installed the superchips 1704 performance tune on my 6.0 truck, as well as a strait pipe exiting the side just in front of the rear tire. The truck sounds incredible and I think I could take just about anybody lol. My question is at around 3000 rpm at wot it sputters like hitting a rev limiter before it shifts, took my dad out last night and he says it sounds like a lean condition, I do know it does not make any black smoke. Up to that point it is incredible but I do not want to kill my truck I love it way to much. I appreciate any and all info. Merry Christmas.........

welcome to the forum... you should look around here, lots of good info. u will hear that you need to ditch the superchips and get SCT with custom tunes because it provides the best and safest power for the 6.0. good luck with your performance adventures

Thanks very much guys, I will take your word on this, Superchips on Craigslist, and search for SCT. I really was wanting to chip the truck and couldn't pass up the 80 dollar programmer but if it is going to screw up my truck it seems like it will cost much more in the long run. I know lean will kill a truck fast, lets get the black smoke a flowing. By the way the turbo whistle of the straight pipe is absolutely amazing.....
