Hey all I'm getting ready to do my studs and I figured while I'm at it I'd block off m EGR. Found this one on eBay, was wondering what you all think?

Thanks...

If you are going to just block it off try this. It is the 3rd one down. 6.0L EGR Components If you want to eliminate the whole EGR system, check this out. Product Detail Hope this helps some.

Is this the one you used? If so how do you like it, any codes? Also which one is better to do?

I just used the plate from Elite because I don't have the SCT to turn the EGR system off. No check engine light with the block off plate, but when I get the SCT, I'm doing the complete EGR removal from firstcoastdiesel performance.

It doesn't weld on. Just sits in a recess where the cooler bolts. The cooler can still fail but not as likely. That's why I'm going to install the complete kit when I get the SCT.

I know this is a stupid question, but why would blocking off the egr be worth while?

The EGR is what sends the hot gases through the EGR cooler which is why the cooler blows.

So by doing this I take it no more hot gases right? So does this mean the egr valve doesn't have to be cleaned anymore?
